Who we are

The Crawler Company is responsible for the processing described here. You can reach us through our contact form.

When we contact businesses

We sometimes contact businesses, for example to ask whether we may use their material. For that we process:

Why and on what basis. We need a documented answer to our question, and we keep it as proof. Our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We weighed that interest against yours: we only use business addresses that you publish yourself, contact you sparingly and stop as soon as you ask us to. We never use these details for marketing and never sell or share them.

How long. If you agree to our request, we keep the correspondence for as long as we rely on it, plus five years. If you decline or do not reply, we keep a short record for five years so that we do not contact you again.

When you use our contact form

We receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to answer you. The form sends your message to us by email; the website itself does not store it. We keep your message for up to two years after our last contact. The legal basis is your request to be contacted.

To keep spam out, the contact page uses Google reCAPTCHA. It loads only once you start filling in the form. Google then processes data such as your IP address and information about your browser and how you use the page, may set cookies, and may process data outside the European Union. See Google’s privacy policy and terms of service.

When you visit this site

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics or tracking. Only reCAPTCHA on the contact page may set cookies, as described above. Our host processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the pages securely.

Who processes the data for us

Microsoft hosts this site (Azure, Western Europe) and handles our email (Microsoft 365), under its data processing terms. Google provides reCAPTCHA. Nobody else receives your data.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to the processing, or ask us to restrict it, through our contact form. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the authority in your own country.
